Post your favorite sentimental coin or currency note and where, when, and how you got it. My favorite is am 1853 Half Cent (PCGS MS63BN) from my grandmother. I got it last year for Christmas.
It was the first coin I ever saw in a coin guide that made me say boy I wish I could find one of those that I could afford to add to my collection.
This is my last sentimental coin I got. Got it from the Lost Dutchman's classic gold coin contest! Makes it special to me as I hardly ever win anything and then I get this babe!! I wish I still had the coins I got from my Grandfather but they were stolen!
My first denarius. A somewhat worn and ragged Commodus from the late 2nd century, but I still like it. Before this, I'd only ever bought Roman bronze. The addiction only got worse from this point on...
This would be my most sentimental one... purchased from proceeds of a land sale that was willed to me by my grandmother. 'dude
Nothing fancy........ My first Morgan! 1878 CC. payed $70.00 a few years ago. Started out collecting silver bars and rounds but this purchase got me hooked on gov't currency...........
