Post your favorite sentimental coin or currency note and where, when, and how you got it. My favorite is am 1853 Half Cent (PCGS MS63BN) from my grandmother. I got it last year for Christmas.
It was the first coin I ever saw in a coin guide that made me say boy I wish I could find one of those that I could afford to add to my collection.
This is my last sentimental coin I got. Got it from the Lost Dutchman's classic gold coin contest! Makes it special to me as I hardly ever win anything and then I get this babe!! I wish I still had the coins I got from my Grandfather but they were stolen!
My first denarius. A somewhat worn and ragged Commodus from the late 2nd century, but I still like it. Before this, I'd only ever bought Roman bronze. The addiction only got worse from this point on...
