I picked up this token today at the show (a freebie tossed in with my purchases) because it was the first one I've seen for cigarettes. It turns out it was from a (1938) slot machine that dispensed tokens for 1, 2, or 5 packs of cigarettes or for mints. - How times have changed! I've added links at the bottom, below the pics. http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/sparks-gum-cigarette-1-cent-trade-stimulator http://www.timepassagesnostalgia.com/&searchkeywords=Nostalgic+Numismatic+Sparks
I wonder if these "trade simulators" had anything to do with the Sparks Casino near Reno, NV ? Quite an interesting piece !
According to the info in the links, it's the name of the slot machine. I don't know if it's related at all to the casino.
