    Hey guys,
I had a moral question for you. Theres a guy that sets up at the local flea market here in alabama. The guy has just about everything- jewlery, fishing tackle, coins. You get the picture. He is very arrogant. I asked him about a cheap top water lure. He responded "That right there is a 17.95 lure in Walmart" WHAT??? Rapala is the most expensive lure at walmart, and they are around $10. When I sat it back down and he became upset. "You aint' gonna find that no cheaper!" -I went to Acadamy Sports the next day and found the lure for $3.79................ He had HUGE ziploc bag of world coins. JACK POT !!!!!!!!!!!! He was so caught up w/ telling people how much things were at walmart he sold me - 1926 Guetamalan 1/4 quetazal
    - 1920 Mexican 2 centavo
    - 1944 Phillipino one centavo
    - 1965 mexican 5 centavo
All together I paid $1.50 They are all worth about $20. My point is I have put aside some money for this weekend and I was wondering if I should "Teach him a lesson".:hail:
If he was a nice guy about it, I would have to him that he has a gold mine. But now I feel i should take him. What do you think?

He has his selling price, so buy the coins for what he's asking and don't say anything.

If he wasnt such a smart butt about everything I would tell him he has a great collection and you dont need to selling it for such a low price.
He probbably has over $500 in coins. Im thinking about buying the whole bag.

Everybody has a story about the flea market guys. I do know of one flea market coin guy who is ok, but many of them are just idiots.

Maybe you should let his crappy attitude roll off your back. Basically you already taught him a lesson with the world coins you bought. Too much time and energy is being wasted on the dude. Just because he tries to justify his prices that don't mean didley squat. Feel free to let him know that you know better but don't insult him as you never what else you can snag from him at good prices. Help him to help you get a good deal and let all that superficial krap go out to someone else!! In other words, just laugh when he runs his mouth but try to laugh with him and not at him. It may work in your favor, just my 2 cnts

Now I would tell him his coins are worth thousands ! Maybe even tens of thousands ! But I would not do it directly. I would tell my wife while he's in earshot that's this is where I bought that coin worth $750 last week, but for her not to say anything. Then when he overprices the coins, I would walk away. It seems more fair to me to get him convinced to keep his stuff than to take advantage of his ingorance.

This way he will get his own education and you haven't taken advantage of him. Let him outsmart himself.

You are absolutely correct. Life is way too short to get caught up in this. I posted a way to fix him without profiting from it. But that really doesn't do anyone any good at all. Once he prices stuff way too much, he will lose all his business, and maybe he really needs it. I will say you have the better answer to the OP's question. We should all act to better everyone and not solely for ourselves.

    Thank you for the reminder

I would buy up what he has, and not say a word. I never complain when I get less than I expected, nor do I brag when I score... You never know, he may find a lot more coins ;)
