Pre 1954, the notes were replaced with identical number notes. After that the replacements were identified with an asterisk preceding the serial number. Then after 1996, replacement notes were identified with an "X" in the third letter of the prefix and later a "Z". With the current Journey series, it's a little more complicated. Certain prefixes are identified as replacements but then any extra replacement notes that are left over at the end of a prefix run are sometimes "dumped" into circulation. http://www.cdnpapermoney.com/English/BoC/Insert_Notes.htm
All I saw in the red box was a squinty-eyed old time bartender with a huge handle bar mustache. However, on the far east side of the hair, I saw what could be a demon's profile ? Now the cloud formations got really interesting ! Especially if I turned my laptop upside down ! But I don't see much Canadian currency, or US for that matter. My wife gets all the cash ! lol
seeing things in the clouds gary? ive never (and most other people i bet) thought to look at stuff like this upside down. what did you see? if you like looking for things in clouds or random patterns, i might have some pics you d like to see. i have then private in photobucket so no one can steal them.
