I'm thinking AU...the coin is white and shiny, detail on the hair is present at both the forhead and ear and all bands on the reverse are present. Am I close?

    Thanks,

    Linda

I would go AU58 FSB and maybe higher (if in hand) depending on the luster.

Would it get the FSB since its only AU??....I thought that most people only called FSB coins BU...

I don't believe the grading companies designate an AU coin as FSB but I would still call it such to let anyone interested know it has a sharp strike and would also add a little to the AU value if selling it.

    Just my opinion :)

Both NGC and PCGS attribute AU coins as FB. NGC has graded 10 specimens of this date as AU 58 FB, PCGS has graded a single specimen.

NGC has graded a FB coin as low as AU 50 and, interestingly enough, PCGS has graded 49 cois total FB in grades VG-VF.

    Take care..>Mike

I would wonder about that coin.....that would be one heck of a strike.

    Example...

A 1945 Mercury in MS60 with FSB is approx. $500 sooooo the same coin in AU58 with FSB has to worth more than a regular strike. Don't ya think?
