Byzantine Gold Help Hey gang! I ran across this piece yesterday and not knowing enough to tell a genuine piece from a good fake I wanted to post it and see if anyone had any problems with this piece. It weighs 4.4 grams. Thanks in advance!
Byzantine gold is not something to be expertised from a photo. I failed to find a listing for the dealers attending the ISNA show in a couple weeks but I would take it there and see if Harlan Berk (Chicago) has a presence. He is tops on Byzantine. From what I see in the photo, I'd tend toward it being good but wear can make diagnostics of a cast harder to see. Most fakes I have seen look worse than this but you already knew that.
