I did a search for two dollar bills, $2.00, and did not locate any old threads.

I was at the bank today and had the opportunity to pickup forty new, 2003, two dollars bills. I was quite excited about them. All in consecutive order.

Are there others that like to pick these up. My mother has been collecting them for years. One year when times were tough, she cashed out to buy gas to get to work, and other needs. Since then she started collecting again.

I usually save my $2.oo bills for the kids, but these are going in the safety deposit box.

Anyone else with any thrilling comments about two's?

Anything's collectible. I mean... people collect napkins for goodness' sake. But to each, their own. I think if you like 'em, collect 'em. The majority of my coin collection doesn't have any real value (other than face), but I keep them because they look appealing to me. But, I'm sure someone who collects paper currency would have more to say.

Series 2003 are common but they're fun to spend or for getting kids excited about collecting.

What district are yours from? What's the Serial Number run between on yours? Any low SNs?, fancy SNs?, Stars?

As SyC has stated, everything is collectible and I'll add to that in saying that if you like it, then continue colelcting it. As for rarity, the 2003 $2's are not rare in any sense of that word, but depending on whether they are star notes or from a particular district, might have a premium to them in the future. I always say to hold onto them for a bit. Even if they don't have a premium later on, it's still money saved!

I collect matchbooks and vynyl LP's and also coins and currency. Save 'em and if your bank can provide $200 wraps go for it. I think the reverse of the 2 is the best in modern times for our boring currency.

TWO dollar bills are VERY collectible. The BEP prints more collector edition notes for TWO's then any other denomination. I just finished my quest for every different 4-subject sheet in the 2003A $2 series.

Wow. This is more than I expected.

I am not sure what a BEP is. Nor do I understand what to look for in a star.

Here is some of what I have (sorry no pics):

    Serial numbers run from H03045551A-H03045590A.

Series 2003 A, Plate 8. Also has H2 on the right hand side of obverse, and fw H 14 on the left side.

There are also green like hairline threads that show through most of the notes. Only the first/top note has a slight bend in it.

    H-St. Louise, MO.

The seal is green. The emblem is a sheid (with scales, square, key).

Like another poster, I too like the reverse.

What is meant by "4-subject" sheet? Thank you,

Not exactly sure where to look. So far I do not see a *.
Thank you Krispy. I was looking for a five pointed "Eastern Star" kind of star.

That is hard for me to visualize. It is probably time I purchase a book - "Currency for Dummys."

Did you look at the link? It's four uncut notes on a sheet from a larger sheet of printed notes. Just search "uncut currency" on eBay for plenty of examples. Here's one uncut sheet of Series 2003 $2 notes

Is a star similar to a "replacement" note?

Mine do not have any stars. Sure appreciate your help everyone, and especially Krispy.

not similar, stars are replacement notes.

Thank you Krispy. I will try to remember Heritage Currency Glossery in the future. That sounds like a nice place to hang out (via internet).

My husband's lap top has a web cam camera on it. I do not know how to use it. I hit the button by error one time, and about fell over when I saw my fat face on the screen.
