New idea #3 to replace previous.
Take a good picture of a coin, perhaps the prize coin, then cut small sections to post, post a new piece each day, each person gets one guess per day of the year/type of the coin.

The hamman88: Potluck Contest

Idea: Have a contest where you depict one side of an American coin. Have users PM how many full dictionary words they can find in the words on that side of the coin.

FOR EXAMPLE: "IN GOD WE TRUST" would yield trust, rust, wet, us, etc.

All would be eligible for this contest and all would vow not to use any sort of technology to find answers.

KRISPY would be ineligible since he wins too many contests.

Guess Cman's weight in gold or silver or his choice of precious metals.

 

How about guess a number between 1 and 100? Closest one wins

 

You could do a contest for posting your birthday, then whoever gets closest wins.

 

#5 Guess the number of coins you have in your collection.

 

Idea #13

Dress up your favorite coin for Trick-or-Treating.

Apply graphics to a coin photo or arrange coins with Halloween decorations, etc.

Hold a poll (beginning a few days earlier) to vote for best costumed-coin picture posted.

Contest/Poll expires on Halloween night at midnight... winner with most votes wins.

Halloween seasonal silver art bars and rounds are ineligible but ugly coins are welcome.

Have everyone guess the number of Holes in your Danscos, or the number of coins in a certain collection, or the year you got into collecting, or ....

a short story about your fictional date with Miss Liberty, where did you go, what did you talk about, how she feels about things in general. The best story wins the contest.

 

Have all Coin Talk members go on a hunt for and post the lowest serial number on a one dollar bill they can find. Lowest number is the winner.

Coin stacking contest... the highest single stack of coins a member can post a photo of (and report the number of coins stacked) wins. Maybe you can limit this to only halves or only one cent coins for instance -or- break it down with a winner for each denomination presented.

"Guess the grade #100" CONTEST!

Contestants must guess the grade of CT member rlm's cents 100th "Guess the grade #100" coin, before he reveals the grade in his thread's poll. The winner will be determined by his poll but must post their grade guesses in the contest thread.

Hurry up Cman... time is limited on getting this contest underway!

 

that would have to be a vid to show when u knock it over you werent using glue or magnets. other than that i like it,
