Ill answer your question...... The dollars you are referring to are Bicentennial Eisenhower Dollars (Ike Dollars). These coins are worth one dollar unless they are exceptional specimens......if there are a couple you think deserve high grades feel free to post them and I am sure that somebody here can assist you in advice pertaining to sending the coins to third party grading.

Welcome to CT.......if you disregard the ignorant post/people you will find this site both informative and enjoyable:thumb:

Unfortunately, the 1776/1976 half dollars are "clad coinage" and not made with any silver. But post some pics of the ones that look the nicest and someone here should be able to give you an estimate of their value.

This is the best place to learn about the hobby and how to best care for your coins, buy, sell, etc. In fact the experts here rekindled my interest after many years of being inactive.

The more you visit this forum, the more you learn. In my opinion, anyway

If you like them, keep em!

At coin tables at Gun shows, the old circulated Ikes can sale for 1.25 or more.

I guess some find them to be a fair conversation piece. Frankly, I sort of miss them.

    Fat round dollars are cool.

So let me guess. You are a female with good mobility, and have a sweet smile?

Just having some fun here! Welcome to cointalk. Hold on to those coins, and if possible buy more. IF you add to the collection, you will have a great story to share in your golden years.
