Welcome to the forum! First I would recommend getting some books, red book, cherry pickers guide, also with lincoln errors try using lincolncent.com. There is also grading guides to help you out. Also, don't get stretched to thin when collecting try to narrow your collecting to a couple areas. Look at as many coins in hand as possible, remember buy the coin not the slab, and have fun!

Well, there has been quite literally libraries written about coin collecting. I'm sure with all the knowledge collected in this forum we can help with any question you have, but they need to be defined just a tad bit more to be answered properly.

    Hey Mike.

The best part of coin collecting is there are no rules. You collect what YOU like ! It sounds like you already have a good start and you came here. So you can get almost any question answered accurately.

    Good luck,
    Gary
