Went to the bank today and got $50 dollars in mixed one dollar coins and found 2009 Sacagawea $1 One Dollar Coin and it was Missing it's edge lettering. click here to view photos
I received a Sacagawea coin the other day as change at a Mapco gas station, noticed that there was NO date, did a little research about it, and read all about the date was moved to the edge. Well took out a magnify glass and found the date, but could only read 200_ so I then looked at it under a 100X microscope and the 9(nine) is missing from the coin. Has anyone seen this coin out there or similair coins where the date is incomplete???? thanks Alan 615-708-9998
not sure if it is a good idea to put your number on there i'm sure someone would respond to you if you had pictures
thats not true ill respond. i sell life insurance. if your not interested in that i might be able to interest you in amway....no? how about jehova?..ill be in touch (kidding) seriously id remove it.
the machine that puts the letters on the edge looks like something my dad made in the garage. coins fly off it (literally) regularly - and i'm surprised there aren't more out there with these errors. At least all the crooked, wrong spaced, and missing edge letters have given error coin collecting a little exposure. Nice find by the way, didn't mean to detract from the coin.
Yeah, pics would help...........................................................................................a lot.
