Hmmmm, so hard to choose just one, but here's one that I like to look at quite a bit and I can't imagine ever selling it:

It's a tough choice that seems to change daily. I'll choose the 1910 today.

They are the very rare and special Matte Proof issues. They were made from 1909 to 1916 with the 1909 VDB, 1915, and 1916 being the rarest. They only issued a little over 2000-4000 in each year. Only about 70 '09 VDB's known today in all grades while 420 1916's known.

I don`t get into too much regarding numismatics, but I do have some ASEs that toned nice.(most likely from being in a binder) The pic really does not do it justice, and it`s hard to capture the blue ring on it. tonedase 009.jpg

I found this one on a local dealers bid boards. I got it for $2 cheaper then he was selling his 'regulars' for :) I'll work on getting better pics here shortly. As evom said above, these pics dont do this coin any justice..

@Accordian....Love that blue toning on older ASEs. I like the reverse on Yours. The one I posted the pic of hardly has any blue on the reverse. I have another that does not have a complete ring around it, but has really nice color as well. I tried getting a good pic of that one too, but ran out of patience with my camera.

You don't dip MPL's. Because of the tissue paper they were issued in, some were stored for a good long time in that paper before being sold. Therefor, the chemicals in the paper caused unique toning. I think every MPL has different and unique toning than others. Like a whole different coin. :D

Why in the world would you want to dip the coin? I think the green is a perfect contrast to the deep turquoise blue in the middle and it looks absolutely stunning. Dipping it would just ruin the value.

1999 Gold 10,000 Yen from Japan commemorating Emperor Akihito's 10th year of enthronement. Thought this would be a good opportunity to practice taking pictures and also see if I could properly post them.
