Very pretty.... I have always admired the long-cross pennies. That one looks to have a very nice rim, and extra clear lettering, great example. Thanks for sharing.
First learned about the long cross in an ANA correspondence course. Thank you for posting the long cross penny. I don't know much about them but I learn more with each post I read here on CT.
Nice Edward I penny! Ive got a couple but im no expert on them. How rare/common is the Lincoln mint? I havn't seen many around so im guessing they are one one the harder to find ones. You should post your others, would love to see them.
it's about as rare as the berwick mint. from what i can tell, around 1,100,000 pennies, half-pennies, and farthings were minted in lincoln, as opposed to over 178,000,000 in london, which includes re-coinage. the lincoln mint was open from 1280 to 1281. this is my only lincoln penny. the rest of my collection has been posted in other threads.
