Asian Coin Identification

    Hey everyone,

    I was digging through some of my fathers old stuff and among other things, I found this... my guess is that it is not old at all but can anyone here read or identify the country and language? my guess would be Thai...

    You are correct! It is a 5 Baht from Thailand (Y#98). One of 30,016,000 made of copper-nickel in 1972.

    The portrait is of King Bhumibol or Rama IX to give you his throne
    name.He was born in America & has ruled Thailand since 1946.

    The date on the Thai 5 Baht is of the Buddhist Era calendar,hence the date BE25XX. You can work out the last 2 Thai numbers in the
    date.
