I went to the flea market last weekend. Looking through this man's display case, between the Zippo lighters and pocket knives, was a dollar bill with a 98 cent price tag on it. Nothing special...just a buck. After a few questions---is it real, etc., I gave the guy a dollar bill and he gave me the dollar plus two cents back. He said he had that dollar for sale all summer. He said at least a hundred people looked at that dollar, but no one until me wanted to buy it. At that price I'll buy them all day long!!!
No, but I did end up buying an autographed Harold Washington for Chicago Mayor political button for that dollar.
Better still While cruising FeeBay last year I placed a .99 cent bid on a $2 uncirc bill. I'm not really into bills and forgot about it until the seller sent me an invoice for the 99 cents I owed him. After it arrived it made me look at his other listings.:thumb:
I wonder whay so many people looked at the dollar for 98 cents and didn't buy it ? Was it too much trouble to profit 2 cents ? Buying something for "under" value is always a treat for me......and if I had some extra cash laying around I'd buy another 2003 $2 Federal Preimum Star Set for ONLY $299, when the original BEP price was $495. Maybe this isn't a good example, seeing that there's only $24 in US money in the set.
