I really like this thread...except it keeps proving my collection tops out with

    AU.

Please keep'em coming so I can continue frowning at mine.

But I still hold on to them.....and believe in the old adage:

"There are two disappointments in life.

One is wanting something~and never getting it.

    The other is getting it."
    ;)

We all begin somewhere. I am over two years on studying the
Eisenhower's and still have not fished my first Dansco of them.
Even though the below picture is just a few that I grabbed off the top of the pile of boxes at the bottom of the safe.
When I first started them the best I could find were AU.
And things went kind of crazy from there.
The more you look for them the better the ones you will find.
At least the was the case for me.
The Most important thing is to have fun and the rest will come.

    Duke,
I would say that roughly a little more than half are one variety or another.
You gave me a good idea, maybe this winter I will dig ALL of them out and sort them by
variety. Right now they are stacked in the boxes pretty much the order in which I
bought them. It is strange that when I dug these out and looked through them after
taking this shot. I could remember going over them thoroughly looking for varieties.
Then I learned more about the Ike's since looking over them and I find more
things on the ones I have. That is why I have a hard time selling any of them.
It seems that there is always something new being found in the Ike series the last
few years. And I am certain that as soon as I sell some, That something new will
be found. And sure enough the new discovery will be in the year of the ones I sold.
So I just keep them all. except ones that are thoroughly beat to death, Those I
spend in local stores and use for tips. People love getting them.

    Jello,
Thanks, I am always working on them, It is a blast. I have never had so much fun with a series of coins as I have with the Ike's. Morgan and Peace VAM Hunting was fun. But
nothing compared to this. I love being on the ground floor with all of the new discoveries.
Example: A gentleman made a new discovery of a 1971 D FEV DDO DDR
He had it attributed and posted pictures of the discovery. After the weekend of the
NSRA Hot Rod Show I pulled some coins out I had taken for the weekend to share with
some of the Officials and Security Staff. And one was a 71 D FEV I wanted to show them
the varieties characteristics, The Earth, Eagles Brow and such. I saw the gentleman's
discovery pictures and then looked the the one I had there on the desk and it was a dead on match except mine is a much later die state. Perfect end to a great weekend.

Here is a link to the thread of the Gentleman's 1971 D FEV DDO DDR and how it
    progressed. It was very cool.

And here are some shots of the one I found after the Hot Rod Show.
Just goes to show it is always good idea to take more than a couple looks over a coin
You never know what you might miss. I have owned this coin for over two years.
And now it is just like adding a new coin to the collection:hail:

    MrBrklyn,
Sorry for the late response, I seem to no longer receive e-mail notifications
when someone posts to a thread that I am subscribed to since the format of the forum
    has changed.:headbang:
Here is the answer to you question about the reason for the close ups of the letters

The shots of the letters is to show the splits in the serifs of the "T" and "S" of
Trust and the "E" of We on the obverse. And on the reverse the "LL" of Dollar
That are the diagnostics for Doubled Die's

    DuraMaxMike90,

It looks to me like a grease filled die. in the sot of the "R" on your
    coin. Cool Basement finds
