    Long live William Jefferson Clinton!

    I am hoping that Reagan will be the last qualifying president, and that coins minted from that point on will not portray identifiable people, living or dead.

    Somehow I think Gerald Ford will not be around so that he can be on a coin. He was hospitalised recently and is 92 years old.

    Clinton may actually go before Jimmy Carter and GHWB, with all of his well known health issues. But then Cheney defies the odds and still is alive, or at least his body double is doing a fine job.

    Cheney has never been President of America.Dick Cheney is the current Vice-President of America. There has been a Vice-President
    of America depicted on a banknote,but not a coin though.There's a
    mention about the famous Tombstone Note in the Paper Money section of the board.

    I think the comparison was simply being made as to how Dick Cheney has survived his myriad health issues; not that he was ever President...

    I think the folks outside the United States of America, in the more than two dozen countries and territories of North, Central and South America (Canada, Mexico, Brazil, St. Pierre & Miquelon, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, etc., etc., etc.) would be shocked to learn that Cheny is their Vice-President. ;) :rolleyes: :D

    I have a collection of first day covers, with stamps honoring the Presidents.

    When I concluded the program, we were to President Clinton. Unfortunately, the company which produced the covers has no plans to continue.

    That's too bad.

    I feel the same way about the Presidential dollars. I hope that as the United States inagurates new Presidents, they will eventually be added to the coin series.

    America.

    Roy,when people are making references to America,they are meaning the U.S.A.,not the other countries in the Americas.However there were 4 other countries that had 'United States' as part of their names;

    Estados Unidos Mexicanos - United Mexican States (Mexico).

    Estados Unidos de Venezuela - United States of Venezuela.

    Republica dos Estados Unidos do Brasil - Republic of the United States of Brazil.

    Estados Unidos de Colombia - United States of Colombia.

    The problem is that except for maybe George Washington, there are segments of the population that hate each and every one of his successor's guts. I know that TPTB here want to restrict the discussion of such things to another forum, but people like Nixon and Buchanan don't deserve to be on the money even though they were indeed president. What are people going to do with a Nixon dollar?
