There are at least 15 others like your bill, probably more. I have no idea of the value. Perhaps this should be moved to the currency forum.

Reading through the BEP production process I can not explain how this got past the detectors.

Scroll down to COPE. That is where serial numbers and seals are applied.

Nice looking note. lettow or numbers will be able to help you out. They pop in occasionally. Just be patient.

3rd printing on back, there are usually some on ebay - like this one - Item number:140454604406

Value, what ever you can get someone to pay you for it.

By far not a first, but a very nice find!

Very NICE Find! The bill is worth Way more than face value and I would suggest you asking this question on any number of currency forums to get an answer you can use and then go from there.

First of all, stop overformatting your posts, it's needless and annoying to look at all that BS when I quote you.

Second, every $100 bill in any one series has a different serial number, so yours is unique, but the error itself is not unique. Rare, but not unique.

Third, no, it is not the only modern example at all.

Fourth, it'll never fetch a million dollars in auction, nowhere near. I'd guess it's worth around $500-$800, max.

It was overformatted. Now it just lacks any semblance of proper grammar, spelling or punctuation. I feel the need to give my opinion because, flatly said, you seem to have unrealistic expectations. Lastly, I highly doubt you have a legitimate offer of $100k for that note. I could say I'll give you $25,000,000 for it, but if I don't have the capital nor the resources to acquire such capital, it's not really an offer. Now, it's probably worth a good sum of money, but it certainly won't fetch anywhere near $100k. I'll eat my words if it does. I'll literally print my post out and eat it if it does.

Abarham, Like many similar threads in this subforum, the poster asks for opinions and then it ends up with posters debating each other until moderators have to close it down.

If you ask for opinions, that is what you will get, personal opinions. My suggestion is that since there is such a wide spread opinion value between your and the others, to have it professional graded and authenticated by a high rank TPG, and then solicit info from Heritage as to their opinion of value if auctioned, and decide what to do.

I don't want this thread to degrade any further as to personalities, so temper the emotions please. Others, if you think the amount is ridiculous, I think it is alright to say so, and offer an opposing opinion of value, but keep it civil. Abarham, if you don't like the answers, say thanks or ignore it.

    Thanks,

    Jim

you won't see a 6 figure payment for that bill, I would be shocked if you saw five.

Heritage Auction results show a number of 1995 $100.00 notes with this error that have sold for between $250.00 and $2,500.00. No 2006 Series notes are shown in their sale archives. It is probably because this is the current series and they have simply not been found yet. There will be at least 32 notes from that sheet with this error.

Take the $100,000.00 now. No modern US error note has ever sold for that much. In fact, only a few have sold in excess of $10,000.00 and none even close to $100,000.00.

If you sent that note to Heritage it would have an estimate of $500-$750. While it wouldn't be shoccking for it to reach $1000 it would be above expectations.
