What is everyone's favorite retail/public place for good coin finds? I've hit up everything including local banks, Walgreens, gas station, grocery store, etc with mixed results. Any other potentials I've overlooked?

    Restaurants.

I find most of our good coins and currency at the local Lone Star steakhouse.

Unfortunately we don't get out to eat aften enough to have much luck...Although hubby goes to Hooters quite a bit for lunch with the guys from the office...guess I could tell him to check there for me. It will give him an excuse to go more! LOL

That is what we need on our coins. The Hooter's Girls. :D

Pizza delivery places are a great place to look.

As you are making your friends, don't overlook the mom and pop shops.

Don't think you could do them justice on 1 coin...unless you used both sides! :D

Well I get strange looks, and even "You are going to pay me extra for that"? It just takes a little time building the friendships.

ND is right...it just takes a little time. The bank that I frequent is right inside my grocery store. Initially I started out just asking for the shiniest Sac Dollar they had, then explained that it was for the 'tooth fairy'. Of course that starts the conversation & it goes from there. Just be yourself, let them get to know you. Now my girl at the bank even gets online & messages to her friends at their other branches & asks if they have anything, saving me a trip!

Bottom line is be patient, be friendly & be yourself.
    Good luck!

I learned an important lesson today: Always! take your change. I bought a sailing magazine for $4.99. I folked over a $5 dollar bill and was about to walk away. But something told me to stick my hand out. Sure enough, a 1948 wheatie was placed in my palm.
