Have been upgrading for years. Most of my set is AU or better. Have 10 I need to upgrade to this level. Also working on 2 other Lincoln sets for grandkids. Need 10 IHC to finish that collection and 6 Buffalos to finish that set. Need 3 Mercs to cap that one off. Anyone got a real cheap 16D? Living off disability now so probably no high dollar purchases in the near future. The Lincoln 22 plain and 55DD are always in the back of my mind and if I run across one that really calls to me and I could afford, I would probably go for it. Never say never. Thanks for all the kudos guys. I really appreciate it.
Congrats!!! I need that one and the 1914d to complete my set.....but it will be quite a while before I can afford it. How great for you that you finished.........now what's next?
Congrats! My set still has many holes, mostly prior to 1938, still needing a 1954 and 1960, though... Got most of the easy to find ones down... Thats just from spare change soo far.
Over 30 I have over 30 1909 VDB's.........not one S though. That one I may just have to buy some day. But I started over 50 yrs ago. And I have LWC's by the lbs. But you are right. Not so many these daze. Last LWC was a 1953 I found in change from a Speedway about a month ago. Really beat up. But I set it aside.:thumb:
Congratulations! What a great feeling. Are you working with an album? I agree about the 1922 plain being an error. I bought mine only because Dansco told me to. It's neat having the error, but personally I would have rather put that money into another major coin collecting goal. Anyway, don't stress over the '55 doubled die or the '22 plain... Bask in the enjoyment and pleasure of owning a truly beautiful 1909-S VDB, my friend! :thumb:
