OMG its a 1908 Barber Half Dollar

I just recently bought a barber half...
I just want to ask what's your opinion on it
it didn't say a grade but I bought it for $21.00
I'm not sure...probably a VG or about fine...idk
it would really help since its hard to grade
the condition of the barber series...
all opinions are open...and thanks for everything

I vote F12 details, but the surfaces look real funky, perhaps environmental damage for a coin that spent time in the ground. I don't like it at the $21 price.

 

Hmmmm. Not sure what happened. I didn't see a photo. Maybe it just loaded slow.

As far as grade, I agree it is Fine.

 

I agree with the F grade but it looks like someone put an eraser to it just above the ear.

 

F-12 and someone has cleaned it harshly for that flat lusterless look. It is easy to tell when a barber has been cleaned it either has all kinds of obviously artificial luster that doesn't cartwheel right or it looks like that one.

 

A coin in F grade typically has little to no luster. The coin does appear flat, but I suspect that's just the photo and not something more sinister.
