Ok, since krispy was already entered I can't count his entry until 24 hours have passed.
So, his great answer gave this round to wassappenning. I wasn't expecting anything about the $1, didn't realize it was his father. (I like the son's work more).

Wassappenning-ready for my question, please post that the question is only for me.

Well, being on the West Side, I imagine I will be looking quite a bit also. Although my last box had quite an unexpected mix with more P's and Canadians than usual. Snowbirds ?

Aw man! I guess I didn't understand the rules of this contest... Why do I have to wait 24 hours? It has been more than 24 hours since I gave a correct answer. I thought that only applied to the first correct answer I got an entry for to prevent the same person from getting multiple entries too quickly. Does that mean that I have to wait 24 hours after ANY future questions posed in order to have my answer, if correct, count as an eligible entry? I know you said you wanted this contest to run for a while but I can see this rule drastically slowing this contest down what with the limited number of people so far participating. Could you give us some sort of time frame for an end date? End of this month, next month? Thanx.

I will stop the contest once I have 15 entries. I hope to have 15 different people entered, so any person already entered would need to wait 24 hours before answering any future questions. I will try and find some little know facts about coins/bills so that you have a realistic shot at a second entry. I wonder how long it would have taken without your post? Everyone else just stole your hard work.

Thanks for the details the contest.

I think anyone with a Red Book who was first to the computer could have done the same thing I did. :thumb: Was no sweat really. :smile

I am not for sure that I was officially entered. But if it let's someone else participate, I am willing to withdraw and just observe. If that is OK.

everyone is able to play, to have a chance at a prize you need to be the first person to answer a question I ask (and stump me with your own question). I will pm wassapenning.

ok i went back and read your original post for this thread and realized questions can only be related to us currency.
    ok. for camlov ONLY.

for the first small us cents (flying eagle), what was the reason for choosing that particular diameter?
(ps do i have to know the answer?) i am a newbie you know.

    i was going tom ask

what video game has a canadian coin embedded in the wall (if you look hard enough for it)

sorry i forgot, i think were not allowed to edit.
    so the question is
what was the reason for choosing that particular diameter when changing over from large cents to small cents (flying eagle). i know that it was to save money on metals, but how did they come to agree on that particular size rather than lets say one one thousanth of an inch larger or smaller.

If you don't know the answer you can't tell me if I am right.
I know it was smaller than the previous large cents because they wanted to decrease the cost to produce. Larger than a dime so that they were not the same size. Smaller than a dime would be too small to be practical.

edit-I don't know a reason for exact size.

I will wait for the reason to award an entry into the contest but I guess I can make the next question now...

I have posted a picture of a coin below (borrowed from a website) Tell me the significance of the coin, year, and who designed it. Once someone answers I will give credit to the website. Remember if you already have an entry into the contest your guess will not count for 24 hours. (I did white out part of the coin to make it a little harder.)
