#1 #2 Classify these coins please, the name, the year range, silver content, province/place of origin, weight, mint, tribe, empire, condition if known and approximate market value. I believe these coins are from North India. Thank you for your help!
The first looks like it may be a square karshapana, from India, around 4-500 BCE. The second could be an early rupee, around the same time or later. Many of these are fakes sold to tourists, we'll need size and weight of your coins to better determine what they are.
Karshapana come in three varieties: Rare and pricey, common and identifiable and messy so it takes an expert to make them out. I bought a couple easily identifiable but common ones last weekend for $7 each. I suppose there is some value to the messy ones but not from me. I don't know enough about them to pay extra for rarities so I'm no help there either.
