You just have to be kidding. That is one of my favorite Lincoln Cents and I to have lots of them. And don't forget there are 8 different ones to collect. I use a balance scale to figure out which are Copper and which are Zinc. Don't have a picture handy but if you need one to see that difference you may not have both large and small. Check out the coppercoins.com web site. Should be a photo there. Get a copy of the Red Book. Great photo of them in there. The 82 is so different it is amazing.

thanx so much for your help. i went through 50 bucks worth of pennies and took out the 82's. and yeah, i'm aware of the diff. varieties. unfortunately, i don't have a scale to measure them out, so i'm going to have to figure out where to get one. maybe i can buy one and return it the next day *L*

Not really necessary to buy one. You can make one. for example if your imaginative you could take a round pencil or any kind of rod. Balance a flat ice cream bar stick on it and when you find the center glue it in place. Move the flat stick back and forth until it balances. Make sure your doing this on a flat surface. Put one of the 82 pennies at the very end and a 1981 at the other very end. If not much difference, they are both the same material. If you've done a good job of balancing, when you do get a cent made with Zinc there will be an very noticable drop on the 1981 side. Remeber to use a good condition 1981 cent. A worn one will weigh less you know.
If your disperate to be very accurate, try the Gilbert Chemistry web site or Edmund Scientific web site for elaborat scales.
