dollar2.jpg dollar.jpg I have 3 1988-A Web Press / Fed Notes that i have had for 18 years. They are not graded but are baiscally like new, never folded, I tooke the out of a pack of 50 and laid them in a Gun Safe and ran across them not long ago. The serial numbers are consecutive and i wondered what the value may be.

Not sure about the Atlanta district notes because I don't have my book on me, but the richmond district 88a web press in choice uncirculated book for around 45 each.

Put them in a holder and see what you can get from some of the web dealers. I hope they don't try and screw you out of some money.

These notes with the FN block, run 12 and 5-2 plate combo are listed as only having 11-20 known notes. You could have notes that are not known to exist. They will certainly sell for more then $45!!! I would contact Bob Kvederas Jr or Sr. They are the Author of the book - The Standard Handbook of $1 Web-fed test notes - 1988A, 18993, 1995.

The book lists their email as bobkv@bellsouth.net.

    Good luck!

I have a book by Robert Azpiazu from First City Currency, and he shows the notes selling at RETAIL for $225 each in CH-CU condition....keep in mind the book was published 5 years ago in 2005, and the currency market is soft right now because of the economy. The Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S.Paper Money shows them at $150 each in CH-CU. Hope this helps.

Robert's a very helpful guy. I've worked with him via email and also have that book. You can subscribe to his e-newsletter & price list that he sends out regularly or check out his web site, here is the page for Webs: fstctycurr.com/web_2 He seems to be out of stock for the OPs notes right now so no price is shown currently, buy I'm sure he could quote you some figures if you need to know and get in touch with him.

I have a quick question about these web note prices. The FN block has 19.2 million printed, the same as the FU block, but those only list for $40. Is the difference in price attributable to known scarcity versus printage scarcity, and if so how do we know they will always be scarce. People like the OP may be sitting on these and increase the number know to exist to the point where their price comes down significantly.

because little was known about webs until the 93 and 95 series were out, few of the 1988A webs were saved. Later in the 88A series, collectors started to catch on and saved some blocks better then others. Even some notes within the same block could have vast price swings, at least for the 88A series. It all depended on if collectors happened to be able to find and save them. Blocks like the OPs had very few saved.

I would be interested to know if his notes serials are known or not. If they are not, and they added to the total known, it could affect the value of those notes thatare known.

Years ago when the web craze was very popular, I was a toll collector at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in NYS, I went to Memphis with a batch of webs maybe 8-10 thick, sold almost every one of them. I even found about 12 F/Stars and yes Bob Kvederas Jr and Sr and bob Azpiazu were very helpful. The whole paper community were very good guys.
