what the HECK is this?? a GOLD MORGAN???

I got this in a grab bag of sorts with some other morgans.. Never seen one like it.

it weighes 26.9 g and is NOT magnetic..

gold "plated" silver morgan dollar if i were to guess from the pics.

 

Yeah gold plated you can see the silver shining through towards the bottom of the coin. not sure if the gold plating hurt the value or not. value wise i think it would go for whatever a regular morgan in that condition is worth. the gold plating is not going to add any value.

 

not to repeat but i am a newbie. i was going to say plated or painted (would have to be pretty special paint) but i decided to leave it to someone who knew more than me.

 

I believe the plating ruined the coin and it's value is the melt value of it's silver content.
