That kind of one-ups the ex-most expensive Lincoln by a couple bucks.

I uderstand that it will be on display at the FUN show in Jan 2011
also with the other bronze 1943. I wasn't planning to go in Jan.
but I think I'll jump in my car and a little vacation to see them.

Wow, look at the strike on that beauty. Guess they had to crank up the Power!!! for the steel cents.

There is a guy here locally that had a few of the P and a few of the S cents. He has been piece mealing them out a little at a time in different auction houses.

Damn, I was gonna post this coin as a guess the grade and see if anyone commented on it's unique nature. Neat coin & congrats to the new owner!

Actually I think the seller deserves more kudos than the buyer.

Some people have more money than brains. What is the purpose for buying this coin, bragging rights? How can anyone possibly enjoy the coin without the fear of theft, or worse, "bang" your dead...

Congratulation also goes to Andy Skrabalack who acted as agent on behalf of the former owner.

Without a doubt Andy deserves a bunch of the credit for making this deal happen. He's one of the best in the business without a doubt and deserves this.

I saw Andy at the Long Beach show yesterday and heard of this deal at that time. One of the coolest parts of the deal is that the proceeds of the deal collected by the former owners go to charity. Nice!

It will be a once in a lifetime display at the FUN show with 1943 copper cents from all three mints P-D-S AND 1944 steel cents from all three mints P-D-S on display together for the first time. Wish I could go there to see them, but I imagine PCGS will do a video of them and post it.
