I have a very crusted 1720 Swedish coin that while I can't read the denominination I'm pretty sure it is a 1/2 Ore, because of the weight. now the Standard catalog has 2 listings for the 1720 1/2 Ore. One is Lozenged edged, the other is milled edge. I'm not sure what that means. But with the coin laying flat on the table, the grooves on the edge are cut at a 45 degree angle. The coin is really too corroded to get a decent photo. I know it has almost no value, but I'm into the history of it not the bucks. Anyone tell me what those edges look like. 10 Q. JonySky

JonySky,could you please post some photos? Swedish coins typically have the 3 Crowns symbol, which usually gives it away as a Swedish coin.Ore is used in Denmark & Norway as well.

Based on your description, you have a milled edge coin.
