help id old chinese? coin

    my dad dug up this coin here in texas in about 1980, while builing a porch.... i found it again the other day.... 100_2761.jpg 100_2762.jpg it was black when dad first found it.... but about 10 years ago he cleaned it with brasso and a toohbrush....

    thanks for any info.....

    Korea. Copper 1 mon. Hojo mint (Treasury Department), 1731 AD. Reference: Mandell 13.2.8.

    DO NOT clean any more coins with brasso/toothbrushes. It will ruin modern, machine made coins. Thankfully, this one had some time to recolor in the past decade.

    PS - the obverse photo is upside down.
