I want to start my(9 years old) newphew off with a real collector`s coin.He really likes coin collecting. All he has now is ,state quarters, nickels and cents.Im looking for feedback should I give him this coin ?
Im still thinking about it .. I love the feedback and Im moving towards giving him this coin after school.
I say go for it. Everytime my sister comes over i let her daughter pick a coin out and i hold on to it for her in her own little collection till she gets alittle older.
I say give it to him and put it in a nice Air Tite or Intercept type holder or at the very least a new 2x2 holder.
Ok ,My newphew came home from school and I gave him ,his first morgan.:hail: He gave me a big hug.. :thumb:This is what coin collecting is all about..
good for you...at first I would think no..but really if the coins <20$$ why not esp. for what cant be measured in dollars and cents
Very cool thing to do. I plan on giving my nephews some proof sets of their birth year for Christmas. Great way to keep or hobby going.
My sister find it weird that he likes coin collecting, I got him into it ... But I want him to find positive hobbies, so I figure you must start early..
Be sure to tell him to NEVER clean it. I just read a horror story where someone gave a kid a coin and he bought it back to show him how shiny he made it.
My daughter age 10, went to her first coin show last month and bought a '43 penny. She called her Uncle and told him all about the coin. My B-I-N now will send her a coin if she writes him a letter explaining about the coin he sent to her. I think that this is great, she is learning about the coins that she is collecting and some history too(please don't tell her about the learning thing). We are both sliding down the slippery slope with smiles on our faces.
