Hey everyone! I'm a newbie here that has been enjoying the hobby since I was a kid multiple decades ago. I've found my joy in collecting coins that are dated with an 82 year. 1982, 1882, 1782, 1682, 1582, etc. I am excited to see the general friendliness and helpful nature of the posters here.
I came into the hobby as a whippersnapper visiting Grandma’s and she gave me a worn down V Nickel and tattered silver certificate she had come across in an old drawer. Anxiously digging pocket change then ensued. When Grandpa gave me an 1821 Pillar Dollar from his estate, I was hooked.
More recently, the fun has been European and Spanish Colonial (hooray chopmarks) I stumble across. I enjoy a good US error or variety still, and my dream would be a chopmarked 1882 Morgan that I’m sure is out there somewhere, right? Coins of Thailand are also of great interest. My more recent finds have included the following scores:
1582 Great Britain Sixpence
1582/3 Great Britain 1/2 Grt S-2579 PCGS VF25
1682 Scotland $1 NGC
1682 Brandenburg 18G NGC XF45
1682 Brandenburg 6G PCGS MS64
1682 Netherlands Daaler Overyssel
1682 Cologne
1782 Columbia Escudo NGC VF30
1782 Mexico 8Reales Chop Marks NGC F
1782 Mexico 1/2 Reales El Cazador
1782 Sweden Riksdaler NGC AU55
1782 Augsburg
1882 USA 1C Misplaced Date ANACS MS61
1882 USA 10C NGC MS63
1882 Thailand 1/2 Pai Proof? NGC MS62
1982 Nepal Brockage
1982 Nepal Off Center
1982 USA 25C Off Center
Anyhoos, hello!Interact
