I assume you have checked to make sure its a copper and not a zincoln? copper=lamination, zincoln=bad plating job?

 

Well, I have never seen one that looks like that, but I don't know what else it could be.

 

Except for the 'L' in Liberty looking untouched I would also expect a struck through.

Yes, it's copper. I've never seen one quite like this either Dick. That's why I posted it here, I'm not positive but lamination/planchet issue seem the most probable.

 

If I did not know better, I would have thought that it stuck to the die and literally was pulled apart, but I do not see how that could happen.
