    Thanks Krispy ,

I was trying something different with the camera and I liked the way it turned out.

    Dok U mint, Thanks.
I think the Full Talon (Claw) designation is for Susan B. Anthony Dollars
Most of the talons on the Ike's strike up very well. The way the light hit it made them
    show up even more.

    Are we having fun yet?
Ahh fall is in the air and summer is winding down. Finally will have more
time to play with the coins. Thought I would share one with the group.

Nice pick up! What did PCGS grade this one?

  14. Thanks!

    PCGS said MS63, but I say MS64. ;)

I really should have placed my grade-guess earlier. I was thinking even lower, 61 or 62, with all those scratches on the reverse, esp. around the 7-8 o'clock position, on the rim and the horizontal mark on the obverse near the date, plus so many bag marks. From what I hear about other coins in PCGS' hands, I'm not surprized they are higher than my conservative range but I honestly think 64 is a stretch.

  16. MS63 is a fair/accurate grade. I was joking/wishing about a 64. Maybe on the obverse but not on the reverse. It looks great in hand. TC

The last 12-18 months all the TPG are acting like there walking on eggs shell.
I think the 3rd party system has caused most of the strictness on there grading.they really don't want get sticker on there slab.

Read my criticism of CAC and your read that this was inevitable... and the core problem.

  20. Here is my 1972 Type 1 Ike. It is tough to find in higher grades. Enjoy, TC
