These coins appear to have a lot of dings (Bag marks ?). They have original finish and the reverse is in very good condition. This is a nice coin that seems to be raising in value. Would you hold or sell ?
Anything can be a keeper if you see value in it. Personally I keep these but I don't see them "rising in value" anytime soon. The two coins shown probably aren't worth more than face.
+1 If I was gonna get some ikes to hold on speculation(which I won't) you can get mint or close to mint versions of these for a little bit of nothing. and if you are wanting to buy cheap and hold for a future higher price you might as well get the very best you can find. Ikes are not a real popular coin, but someday maybe just maybe could see a premium, but likely even then only for top shelf coins.
IMO, this series is under appreciated but given the bag marks on such a high mintage coin, I would also say to spend them and enjoy the conversation you will have with the cashier. TC
If you like the coins, hold on to them. That's the way I built my collection ...... but then again I collect counterstamps, so maybe you should take my advice with a grain of salt. Man, it looks like Ike took a knife to a gunfight.
Spend them, your dollar will be worth less in a couple of years (the way the govt is printing money). Those are too banged up. Buy a couple of old mint sets with some decent IKEs if you want to hold them for possible appreciation, even that is questionable! Lack
I'll jump on this wagon too. Personally, I am prone to keep anything related to coins. I would probably keep these, even though I knew in my heart they weren't really keepers. Make sense?
I'd say spend them or give them to your children, grandchildren or neighbors kids. They're fun to have when your a child, big ol' coins
Even if it has some imperfections, I have a bag and boxes where I put my low stuff. I just like to keep stuff on the side although I no longer really "collect" anymore.

Would you hold or sell ? There is a lot of work currently going on at "THE IKE GROUP" .. Before I let them go I would check & see if you had one or more of the (scarce?) varieties. They are cataloging die marriages, DD's. OMM's. ETC.. Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t129783/#ixzz102CZKLvr
Hi ! Bone Head, Is there a e-mail site for the Ike Group ? I have a lot of 1/2's & 1.00 Ike coins that are in much better shape than what I posted. Strange that these coins can look so good with naked eye and come out so bad with a scan.
