If you want "cash" they take 9.8 cent to the dollar.

This is 50cent's mom over here; I'm sorry I am meeting everyone under unfortunate circumstances, but I felt the need to respond to L Train's post above. Quite simply, yes, the kid has permission. From both of his parents. I find it to be very unfortunate that there seemed to be a "let-loose-then-ask-questions-later" approach taken; I did not see the PM, but I was told it was very rude. If you don't care for a thread, then just ignore it. You don't need to be unkind.

Oh- but I am really glad to "meet" everyone else; a few of you have been really encouraging to him and he greatly enjoys the forum!

How can they deny it? That's BS... they're a bank, it's their job to take it. What do you do, reroll or dump it in a machine?

i would ask around 3 boxes of dimes in one bank search them all but i would put them in the same wrapper just that it would be open but not for them to go everywhere and put them in the same box in order and give em to another bank. They told me they would accept it one more time if i rolled them in the rolls they supply after that no more. I guess i just over dumped them..or something or they just hate me. If im correct they count all the dimes thats what they told me though...who knows.

Have an account there? Tell them you want to close it. If they still don't let you dump, find another bank.

Remember when they used to take 2-3 cents per dollar... reasonable. This 10 cents per dollar is a ripoff.

Alright, just let me say this much, COPPA requires written consent and a legal release to obtain information from someone under the age of 13, from my understanding. So unless you've done that, his presence here is technically illegal. With that said...

I want to apologize for the message. It was rude, yes, but I didn't know I was talking to a kid. I want to stress that; I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS TALKING TO A KID. He messaged me first, also, I merely responded to his baiting with an appropriate ripping. I figured at the least, I was talking to some stupid 15 year old kid who could use some cold, hard truth. If you're going to put your kid out on a forum, you should expect things like this to happen. He simply isn't mature enough at whatever age he is (I'll guess 8 or 9?) to contribute substantially to the discussion.

He made a thread that was redundant, was told it was redundant, and linked to the proper thread to discuss said topic. He then proceeded to, at a later time, "bump" his thread back to the top of the list of threads in a vain attempt to respark the conversation, when he should have gotten the inference to let his thread die. Basically, he was attention whoring and I called him on it.

    Sincerely,
    L-Train.

PS; I PM'ed this message to that account as well, with an appropriate subject.

PPS; Sorry about all the new curse words he probably learned.

Wow been a long time since I posted anything. Picked up a box of halves from my bank and found:
    2- 40%
    1- 1943 walker VF
    2- 1972-D no FG's
    1- 1973-D no F
1- 1971-D no FG (which I cannot find in my book so I want to take it to my dealer to make sure it is what I think it is)
    1- 2003-D
    Both 2010's

not too shabby. I found the walker in the first roll, and both 40%'s in the last roll lol

Hate finding a silver in the first roll because it's usually the only one in the box... Not a bad box. No FG's can occur for many reasons, including simple overgreasing of the die, so if the FG isn't there and it isn't well circulated, it's safe to say it's a No FG. Probably won't fetch a substantial premium like the "known" years that are considered die varieties due to the FG being polished off.

Welcome, and I am glad that you monitor your child's internet access. :D

You can never know who will contact your child , so be safe and monitor/block bad sites.

    three banks yesterday:

    1 with 3 halves, 1 68
    1 with 10 halves, 1 66
    1 with 45$ in halves(90 coins), 53:eek: 67, 4 64.

The teller said the gent who deposited the halves also had deposited some Big Dollar coins (showed her my Morgan pocket piece, and she said they looked like that), but she brought them home as a souvenir.

Great to be a teller, huh?

Finally got into my 2nd box of cents and in one roll I found a 32 and 32-D in the same roll. Both are in about F-XF condition. Not too bad.

Picked up my box of dimes today and another box of cents. The teller had 6 halves and I got them, one was a '66. Great start so far!
