    Exactly. My wife is a college professor from Thailand, and she does not feel associated with "bad girls" in Bangkok. We make our own life Stealer, and you should feel proud being from an advance, ancient, illustrious culture. Most of us Europeans were sticking spears into wild pigs and living in straw huts when your ancestors were building one of earths first civilizations.

    After seeing this thread, I reported the listing to Ebay. Sometimes they act quickly, other times, slowly and sometimes, not at all.

    By reporting his items, you are reporting him - from an eBay email after reporting;

    2 comments, though. Report what you KNOW is a problem and not what you just suspect. Be patient!

    Well, against my better feelings, I parted with $2 to see what I got. I have been putting together an 1854 type set and since the dollar is so darn expensive, I got me a faux dollar. I finally got it today, and I must make a few observations.

    1. It is HEAVY. They weren't even trying to get the weight right. I don't have a scale but you can feel it in hand and tell it is fake. However, it does have the "ring" similar to silver. It is obviously not silver, though.

    2. The quality of the strike is SHOCKINGLY good. For $2, I expected coarse and mushy details, but I was wrong. The only things that are really wrong on the coin is the edge reeding, the border indents, and the relief of the coin. Everything else looks really good and could decieve the unknowledgeable.

    3. It is permanently and obviously marked COPY by the seller or coiner. I was happy to see that. I just blind bought to see what I'd get. I had no contact with the seller.

    I must say, all in all, as much as I hate counterfeits, I am really happy with the price, quality and marking of this copy. Score one for the Chinese!!! :eek:

    I must say that I am very surprised. I have heard of several people ordering "replica" coins and that is the only one I have heard of being marked.

    LOL... has anyone else seen these signs? Some Chinese people are known to literally plug English text into a translator (and vice versa) without proofing.

    That 1854 dollar is also the first of the Chinese fakes I have seen to be marked COPY instead of REPLICA.

    Someone got ripped off. It sucks there's not a way to presently post group warnings per items.

    Ebay should allow people to post comments on items, so before someone bids on it they can have other peoples opinions first. Especially with coins and antiques.
