I don't think there ever was and never will be one prettier than the Dolly Madison dollar.

I love the 1991 Mount Rushmore commemorative. Why? Because it was my first commemorative, modern or otherwise.

I agree, and not only because I have the two coin set.

I'm also looking forward to the Medal of Honor coins in 2011

2001 Buffalo a classic design, sold out in no time, have held their values in the last 9 years, and were the foundation of the gold buffalos.

I like the 1992 Columbus dollars. Just something about that reverse design that calls to me.

I love the 2005 Marine Corps 230th Anniversary Dollar. It depicts Five Marines and one Navy corpsman raising the flag at Iwo Jima.

IMG_1489.JPG IMG_1497.JPG The 2001 Buffalo is awesome and probably my all time favorite, but I just love the 2006 San Fransisco Old Mint. The Unc version is just stunning. The Reverse looks like what a new Morgan dollar would look like today.

My top 5 are as follows:

    1) 2000 Leif Ericson: A powerful design, fantastic font, and very well spaced. The Viking ship blows me away. It is one of the only modern commemmoratives where I love both the obverse and reverse

    2) 2001 American Buffalo: I didn't think I was going to like the original Buffalo design on a larger coin until I saw one in person. Magnificent!

    3) 1984 Olympic Coliseum: IMO, the reverse eagle design is the best eagle design in all of United States coinage. A very elegant design and a coin that looks fantastic when toned.

    4) 2005 Marine Corps: Historical, Simple, Beautiful, what's not to like.

    5) 1993 Jefferson: As you guys should know by now, I love everything Jefferson and the representation of Monticello on the reverse is top notch.

I would have to agree with the Dolly Madison choice.

here is the reverse of the olympic dollar untoned, it looks pretty good also tho that example was a felicitous accident of toning.
