We've got the White House on the Twenty, The Capitol on the Fifty but why doesn't the Supreme Court get a bill? Are they a lesser branch? The Constitution tries to spell out a spirit of equality among the branches. Why not bring back the $500 bill but this time put the Supreme Court building on the back and a famous justice on the front, say maybe John Marshall. Couple of points, Hamiliton and Franklin while important statesmen were not presidents. There is a 500 Euro note so this garbage about drug dealing and money laundering with higher denominations is weak.
The last vignette to represent the courts was Marshall on the $500 FRN.. I think it would be a good idea..but I do not think we will ever see it. RB
I would like to see a $500 with John Jay on the front and the Supreme Court on the back. Americans are too unaware of our first Supreme Court Chief Justice in my opinion.
This thread could easily go the way of the collectors demanding a redesign of our ugly notes Why stop at adding the Supreme courts to a note? Which i think is a great idea BTW. But why stop there? We really need new faces, new themes indeed new designs on all our notes!
Don't give them any ideas or we'll be getting five different portraits a year on all our bills.:dead-horse: :headbang: :too-funny:
It shouldn't be on the $500, they should be on a 50 cent bill with the words "Justice for all. ALL, as in everyone, remember?" PS. blsmothermon, love the dead horse.
