I'll tell you what makes me madder than any elongated cent. It's the photos that are too large which makes it neccessary to scroll back and forth to read a dang thread. If someone can't resize their photos properly, they shouldn't be allowed to post them. Chris
LOL! You are too funny! Maybe you need a bigger monitor...(jk) Another idea: Try putting your mouse over the image, then right click (or whatever you do for options) and select 'open link in new window' or 'view image'... The image should open in a new browser window automatically resized to fit on screen within that new window, no scrolling necessary.
ME? Look. I had to wait until the spouse went outside to chuck about some firewood to use the other computer just to u/l the dang file. Try holding down the CTRL and hit the - key next time.:hail: It took me 50 min just to get CT to accept the image today! Hold down the CTRL and hit the + to return to viewing of your preference.
Sorry, Krispy, but I've tried everything including another browser. All I can say is that this forum has sucked ever since the update. There was never a problem with it before, and now there doesn't seem to be anyone who really cares to fix it. Chris
It seems to work for the rest, and I don't really see anyone complaining about the updated version of the site as much as you, so maybe it's just you who can't fix your browser/application settings.(?) A lot of people have rectified their issues with the site since the upgrade or found ways to work around them. Support & Feedback is the best forum to solicit help with this issue further, and to do so with the big man himself, Peter.
This issue was posted on the Support forum, and there have been others who have complained. Even Doug admitted that there was a problem, and Peter has not responded to anyone. Chris
I seek out these machines on trips. Elongated cents should not make anyone agry. It's just another aspect of the hobby.
Most likely not Naw. Most likely sometime pulled from pocket change that was really an ugly old coin that needed a revision and resurrected as something new. I think it may have been a 1913.
The thing about using new cents is you get cracks and smears in the copper plating. People who are die-hard EC (elongated cent) collectors carry pre-1982 cents when going somewhere to get them pressed. Solid copper cents make better pressings. Others use their pocket change found pre-1997 Canadian cents for this. I have a small collection, I find them interesting, and I do use new cents usually.
So sorry about that. Last time I used one was in the 1970's, so the Zincolns were not a problem. I can see where they would be though. When I did it back then, I used the newest cent I had though. When some of us quit going out a lot, we tend to forget that the world hasn't stopped. lol Thanks for the reminder. I certainly needed one ! gary
