Haven't posted here in a bit, but I thought I'd share this purchase with the group. I've been after this coin for about 3 years, and after some things falling into place, the coin is now mine. Hope y'all like it!

You waited 3 years for this exact coin? I can certainly see why - she is a beauty. Nice addition.

Well worth the wait. These early 19th century are a bear to grade, IMO. Although I see slight wear on your half, I have a hard time seeing where PCGS draws the line between AU and MS.
Anyway, great coin. Thanks for sharing and enjoy.:thumb:

This is an excellent example of how AU58 coins with a little rub are as desirable but far less expensive than their mint state counterparts. But the originality of this Bust Half made it somewhat expensive no doubt.

    I thought the same thing.
    That's a 58 I'll take over a 60 to 64 or 5 anyday.

    That is absolutely beautiful!!

That might be the best toning i've seen on a bust half. I am also curious what that might sell for ... i am guessing the toning probably took it to many times the listed bid/ask price. That coin would be hard to put away in the safe ... I would want to prop it up by my computer so I can look at it all day (of course I wouldnt leave it there)

    Congratulations on your acquisition.
