I got mine Saturday and thought overall the mint did well..except half the quarters were at some type of angle and so was the Roosevelt dime..on both sets I bought.

Funny, all my Sacy's were slightly rotated. No biggie, as long as every thing is lookin' good....:)

So how's the new locale treatin' ya Shrek?

Glad to hear you got it! That is indeed sloppy carrier service not to scan your parcel. Good thing you won't claim it didn't arrive. I had a problem with missing product in an order earlier this year and had to sign a Treasury Dept affidavit swearing I didn't receive all the items indicated in my parcel. It was a simple matter of paperwork but not one you want to lie about. :thumb:

Yup, still showing "shipment information sent to FDX". Talk about droppin' the ball. I will say that there was a delivery confirmation tag on the package, and I'm sure my mailman scanned that but so much for tracking. Why even bother? I mean, at some point in transit, this package should have been scanned...and it wasn't.

How about some photo's of the set ?

    Indeed pics would be nice!

And 'what's the point' with tracking of they aren't going to use the technology. The customer nearly always gets screwed on the drop-ship FDX --> USPS method.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow guys. I tried taking some this afternoon, but proofs are really hard to photograph because of the reflective surfaces. I wasn't happy with the results. I'm gonna have to take the coins out of the mint Holder (which was also adding to the reflective problem).

I'm just going to wait a few months until the mint has enough stuff i want to save on shipping, if im paying this much for a proof set i want to save all the money i can:thumb:

Wise decision indeed....I've done that on many occasions. Love it when "all you can carry" still only costs you $4.95 in shipping. :)

we were discussing earlier than the Mint automatically bumps you up to expedited shipping if you order any bullion products with an order of $300 or more for free, that's a $12.95 s/h cost reduction and no dealing with that blasted drop-ship delivery nonsense.

'blasted red thread'... It's probably the cardboard fiber from the holder, but that's a great looking silver half! That is the ONE coin I'd like to own out of that whole set.

That laser frosting effect is HEAVY on the quarters, almost to the detriment of details. The reverse of the Mount Hood appears to take the frosting effect onto the rim as well, is that so? There also seems to be a discernible pattern on the portrait of the dollar where the laser traced the die for the frosted effect. I'm still not a fan of this effect, which probably saves them time in creating dies but seems to cheapen/loose detail overall.

Okay, so I see in the last set that the frosting does run over the rims of the quarters reverse... does it also run over the rim on the obverse? Your one shot of the obverse is hard for me to tell.

Personally, The Grand Canyon Quarter is exquisite . Almost like a 3D effect.
