I will assume that you were asking a rhetorical question and that your sole purpose was to draw our attention to the ridiculous tactics of this E-Bay seller.

It is too bad that he can't just sell them as AT coins, this one is ugly but I actually like the Maine quarter. I wouldn't buy from him because I don't want to support someone doing this to old coins....
however if I saw the Maine quarter in a shop I would think about buying it for 70 cents.

That is not the ugliest coin I have ever saw. For ten bucks I would take it AF or not. MIght be able to make it a bit better over time. Somebody will buy it for more then what is bid on it now. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's just that some eye sight is not as good as others...LOL

Well that probably would be a kind thing ( melt it) for that coin but personally I would keep it and put it away. Believe it or not people will buy that AT coin. Cripes if they buy painted Obama coins they will buy anything.
