Hey Guys*- Where do you recon this FS coin was purchased "over-the-counter?" Buchanan's Liberty on eBay *Guys is a Gender-FreeTM reference.
Could the seller have bought this in DC at the US Mint kiosk in Union Station on the day of release? - US Mint tours
The price seems fair to the seller! What would the net profit be, $50? Almost not worth the time! Thanks for the link, I see they opened an outlet at the office, too. That's probably it. PS: that's probably how graded Spouses were showing up on eBay the same day that my 12:01 purchase arrived from the Mint!
I really wish we had a Mint Kiosk in NYC, esp. with so many federal buildings in the city and our proximity to West Point, another US Mint facility.
Buchanan's Liberty is probably one of my favorite $10 Gold Spouses released yet. I LOVE the Liberty Head design! It reminds me of the first gold piece I ever had, an 1893 Liberty Head $10 GOld, ANACS MS-61. Too bad I sold it (I still regret it...)
The US Mint has two sales outlets in DC: US Mint Office 801 9th St. NE (two blocks from the Chinatown-Gallery Place Metro Station) Union Station (kiosk in the Grand Foyer) 50 Massachusetts Ave. NE Chris
I haven't, but, yes, many people have reported going to the Mint kiosks in the past year when new cent rolls were released.
Seems that item found a buyer! Not a bad gig! BIN $936.95. A quick $170.95-ish mark up. Currently retailing from the US Mint for $766.
Elaine usually buys about 100 units of each, maybe more. She can scan images of them all and post them as soon as they arrive. I just can't wait to see Elaine's horde! Yes other's have bought the coin
