oh my gosh! the picture from the listing was photoshopped or taken at a really good angle.

That's a crime. Do you have any recourse?

Recourse ? Yes.. seller accepts returns. BUT $3.00 orig shipping and insured return with del conf. is another 4 or 5 bucks... There ought to be a law..

I agree... I'm not sure it's OK to name the seller in public.. Coin Talk has a feature called PM - (hint)

The weird thing is that the coin that was pictured in the listing has the same serial # as the one you received, yet they look completely different. It's very fishy... the ebay photo listing has 3 small scratches at about 9 o'clock (below the L in LIBERTY), but the pictures that you took don't have that.

Looks like a different coin. The marks under the L on LIBERTY (first image) aren't on the second two images. Different coin/image to me?

Those Liberty scratches are gone on the second and third photos!

Plain and simple, you got swindled.

Go to any BIG coin shows? PCGS guarantee would probably cover this coin.

    Yea! Oh my gosh!

But really, you should try to get a refund!

Are both scratches definitely gone on these coin pics? Look closely at the second photo.

The cert is legit. Do you disagree with the grade? Return the coin if you feel it was misrepresented.

Same coin, I think ? The numbers on the holder are identical... I don't know how a different coin could be in the same numbered holder, do you?

I wish there were a law. IMO coin is clearly SNAD, but sellers will argue they have a right to photograph their coins to their best advantage, especially with a return policy. It's why I stopped buying on ebay long ago.

The label in both holders have a small white dot above the second 1 in the cert number.

Same coin.... But the issue is not the grade.( But you guys have got me thinking about it) The issue is are the photos altered? Or even if they are just taken in the
best possible light, Is it ethical to represent a coin like this. eBay policy, and the ethical thing to do is to point out known flaws..... AND hey, what are you guys doing up at this time of night? It's 12:30 AM where I am..........

12:30+ here too... Coin thinkin' time! :D

I've had a somewhat similar issue to yours though I don't think the pics were doctored just poorly shot and perhaps intended to mask problems. I bought a PCGS old slab IKE a while back. The seller's pics didn't show all the problems the coin had and it arrived with a lot more problems than I could see in the pics but it wasn't worth returning, so I hung onto it and took it as a lesson. Have been thinking to submit to NCS for further education, but not sure:

First obv/rev images are the Sellers pics:

I was pretty surprised to find prints and corrosive spots amongst other spots all over the coin, in highly noticeable places, my pics:
