1858 Flying Eagle Lg...what am I seeing??

    1858 FE appears to have doubling above first two numbers; or am I seeing things?

    I'm not seeing it in the images but there were several repunched dates for that year.

    That area is way too high for a RPD, it IS imagination.
    A RPD is usually directly under the date, with maybe a couple of edges showing.

    I agree. This is the best image I have to show the looks of an RPD.
