I went to my local guy today. I'll be posting my paper findings through the day. I'll start with the 1902.

    Comments welcomed.

The Masontown National Bank Nov, 19 1902. Still looking for info on this but seems I did ok. I paid $250.00

$250.00 for just the National note? or everything pictured above?

Generic price for that note I would put around $175 to $200 assuming that it would grade around VF. If it grades as high as EF then maybe as much as $325. Nice additions!

BTW: if you got it all for $250 I want to know where to find your local guy! :)

I'm curious about the missing(?) signatures for the cashier and president on the bottom of the face. Were they removed? In one image the President line looks like it was washed(?) off, maybe it's just a shadow in the pic. Or were these never 'used' - signatures applied? Does this affect the price of the note?

Bit off topic here but whats that large silver coin above the bank note and 4 other coins.

In the middle of the cashier line it looks like there might be faded ink. I bet it washed out or faded.

Silver round probably from the Franklin mint. One troy pound of silver I believe.

Some of those signatures got pretty swirly and even crossed over the designs. These must have been pretty weak or diluted ink to come off with wear alone.

Could be one of these 4 oz silver bullion coins that replicate the design of the ASE.

I bet it got wet or washed at some point and that helped to fade the ink from the pen. But who knows without looking at it closer.

I did some research but only came across $10.00 but it had faded to no signature which seems common for paper money from 1902.

    It's 1/2LB. .999 silver 2002.

I'm having trouble seeing any ink remaining.

I have a question/request... do you have a scanner that you can scan the notes instead of taking camera pics of them? That would really help us see details of you notes better.

I can barely make out the cashier and President signature.

Yes I do. Never us it so I never thought of it. I'll get it up soon.

A light table might also show better or use the macro function on your camera to get a close shot of the lines.

I agree, back lighting the note can help read delicate things like a nearly invisible signature.
