There shouldn't be any issue with selling. If there is any uh.. uncomfortableness in a pending transaction just agree to split the fees and list it BIN on Feebay. The layers of protection are worth the fees, are they not? Even PayPal by itself with their invoice system has protections.

I did a deal outside of an initial transaction and something went wrong, no tracking, unanswered email for 2 days. I filed with PayPal, they took the nearly one 1k back, my phone started ringing right away. ..(daughter lost the package- yeah right) lol needless to say - new shipment was made, tracking number provided.. I had to agree to release the money.. Everything is fine. Guy wants to do another one. I told him to ship it and I would pay him. He never did.

I'm glad this topic came up as I'm pretty new here and have thought of buying/selling here. I am a member of a pool/billiards forum where people frequently buy and sell related items and also there is some gambling/bets made via paypal by people who have never met. A system they use there for gambling is a good action list: basically if someone makes a bet and everything goes smoothly there name is added to a transaction list of various levels 10$-50$ 51$-100$ etc not a guarantee but atleast you know if someone has been reliable in the past. For selling items they have a seller reputation list that is similar. While this does take some work to update, it definately makes transactions a little less stressful.
Another thing that might make people feel more comfortable with anonymous transactions is CT sellers adding their ebay user name to veiw transaction history there.

  5. Has anyone bought or sold here on CT without using PayPal? TC

I personally would much rather deal with people from this forum then the masses on EBay. It's much more personal here and I think much safer as well. Just as in any other situation there are going to be a few bad apples you just have to be cautious with who you deal with... and if you are done wrong you should let people know, give them a fair chance to make it right of course... but their comes a point when wrong is wrong and it's not going to get better... but on the flipside if you have a good transaction with someone you should also let people know as well. This system of checks and balances will weed out the bad apples.

I have bought items from two different people here, both members who have been around for a while, both great experiences. I used paypal for both transactions so I had
a reasonable sense of security. The only thing I wonder about is if paypal still has the same fraud protection if you avoid the fees by using the gift option like many people request as method of payment. There are always going to be some chances for risk when buying anywhere if you don't pay cash. Every time you hand a waiter or waitress
your credit card you take a chance of your number being stolen. Use your best judgement and try and use all the security tools at your disposal. That is all we can do.

I sold an item and we used a Post Office money order. All deals through this site have been very smooth so far.

Yes, I have. Use a postal money order. a slight charge for it, and easy for the seller to cash, and since most people use a post office box chances are that they will be known to the postal clerks.
