Super common coin, but super rare grade. I got offered a couple original rolls of 1967 Swiss silver 1/2 Francs. Sent about 25% of them into be graded and this is one of the results. PCGS MS69.

Three others in the submission also graded MS69 and most the rest graded MS68.

While the Swiss are know to have produced really high quality coins, it's still amazing to find a 55 year old business strike coin in near perfect condition.

I picked up an uncirculated set and the coins look PL deep cameo! Yours is superb! Not sure if they did anything different between the UNC sets and business strikes. The KM catalog doesn't seem to mention anything other than specimens for 1967 and earlier, which could be similar to proof quailty strikes. Mine DSCN4032~3.JPG is not a proof, but does have deep cameo and PL surfaces.... DSCN4036~3.JPG DSCN4057~3.JPG

Only 5 in MS69, not bad!

Was this the only one that came back MS69 or were there more?

Gorgeous coin! Though I must admit, once grades get into the MS 66+ range, I don't really understand how the grading services can make reliable distinctions between the different numerical grades.

For modern Swiss you have business strikes which are intended for circulation. Their "mint set" is what you have. Typically fully PL and cameo. Many people would mistake them for a proof. Then they have proof sets which have flatter fields, more squared rims, and deeper/fuler cameos (though the mint sets can exhibit these also). Pre-mint sets they have Specimens, which are prooflike and many times cameo.

4 came back MS69. There was 1 MS69 graded before these.
