I recieved a 1978 P dime (no mint) and one side is a tanish copper color. My pal said some one could have painted it. But the coloration about perfect. I couldnt post any pics b/c my scanner broke about a week ago.... Like I said its just too neatly colored for it to be painted or tammpered with. If anyone knows or has one like it, please tell me as much as you can. Thank you
The clad layer is not "plating". The copper on zinc cents is plated but clad coins have distinct clad layers sandwiched around a copper core.
its a tannish but the lip is a regular "silver" (i know its not silver) Its just too perfect for some one to paint it. Its clean around and shows no sign of paint its driving me crazy! ive seen clad missing coins go for 100$ but i dont want to go try to sell it and the guy accuse me of trying to swinndle him....:foot-mouth: barrowed my pals camera, sorry about how poor the pic is........
buddy like i told ya camera dosent take great pics and my scanner broke...... All i need to know is if its real, should i trade or sell it?......................................
I cant see the pic(its burry) so there really not going to be feedback on what we cant see.:dead-horse:
Since he says the "lip" is silver in color I would suspect it is discolored and has seen some circulation that has worn through the discoloration on the rim restoring the "silver" color.
