That is just amazing Ltrain. I have searched a total of 10 boxes and 6 bags (a bag is 4 boxes worth) and have found 41 and no mercs. 31 have come from the bags, 4 from circulation (i.e. looking in the teller's trays and seeing them and asking for them), and only 6 from the 10 boxes. I'm 1/3 of the way through another bag and so far, nothin.

I'm postulating that a large collection of Mercury and Roosevelt dimes was dumped at a TD bank counting machine somewhere around here by some clueless person, and it is now strewn about. I'll probably keep running through them until my average drops below 1.5 per box. It's at 3.28 right now.

The one good thing about Dunbar being the coin company for 90% of this area is that 90% of the coin counting machine hauls are also being processed in one central facility and redistributed.

BTW, I know the spot price isn't right on there, I last updated that like a week ago.

went thru my box of cents and found about 20 2009's and 10 2010's tossed them back have enough of each, found 14 wheat pennies oldest being 1939P. Im just glad I found a 1954 Canadian cent because I was only planning to do one more box of pennies this year and call it good on those.

Nice spreadsheet Ltrain. I did my last box for a while and got one '64 dime. Found out that the bank had been ordering extra just for me...nice to know...I'm thinking of sending the branch a thank you card once I go back to school and things settle down...

On the way home I saw an armored truck being loaded onto a tow truck...didn't notice a company name...but I assumed the money had been emptied out already...

I think there is competition here for half dollars because whenever I find a place that has some.. They are 1 roll short of a box and have markings on the end of them.. This blows!!

Wow! I went through 48 rolls of halves and every single one was a 2001D! I dont think you can get worse than that!

Paused at the coin-sort machine yesterday and found a few coins someone left because the machine wouldn't take them.

    1-2007 Barbados one cent
    2-2000 Ecuador 10 cent
    3-2000 Burmuda 10 cent

Plus 2 cents stuck together with something gooey. Washed off the goo and put in the pile to roll and change out at the bank.

I have noticed that a few people in the forum keep the Westward Journey nickels that they find in rolls, why is that? they have no value right?
